Gjermund (b. 1981) and Einar Olav Larsen (b. 1979) are the violin-playing brothers from Verdal, nearby Trondheim. They come from a family with a strong folk music tradition and have together won “Landskappleiken”, the norwegian competition in folk music in the past three years. In 2002 Gjermund also became the youngest musician ever to win the solo competition.

Both have studied folk music at the Ole Bull Academy for two years. Einar Olav has just finished a two-year study on scholarship, and is now working as a musician in Verdal. Gjermund has continued to study folk music at the Academy of Music in Oslo.
